The Girl Coalition of Indiana is a statewide, girl-focused social innovation startup inspired by the six Girl Scout councils currently serving girls across Indiana.
Girl Co. seeks to enable every girl in Indiana to live her best life physically, academically, emotionally, and socially. By engaging in communities across Indiana, we will learn about the needs of girls while working to create innovative solutions that remove barriers for girls in Indiana, specifically those living in low-income communities. Lastly, Girl Co. will advocate for systemic change to provide accessible and equitable experiences for every girl, starting with conducting, sharing, and acting on annual research of the state of Indiana girls.

Being deeply embedded within our communities
Specifically, communities with the highest density of girls living in low-income areas to learn directly from the people. To understand the needs of our communities and for girls specifically, alongside the challenges and barriers they face.
Act as a Social Incubator
The data shows that girls are not okay. We are partnered with Girl Scouts because the Girl Scout Leadership Experience has shown the ability to create a positive impact in the trajectory of girls’ lives. Yet, many girls in Indiana have not been able to participate in Girl Scouts. Girl Co. is focused on creating accessible and equitable programs that will meet the needs of all girls, specifically girls living in low-income communities.
Research and advocacy arm of Girl Scouts
We will understand the needs of girls by researching where girls are thriving and where they are struggling. We strive to call to the forefront some of the challenges girls face and utilize that research for advocacy and to implement change.

We are a team of readers, hikers, travelers, and artists coming together to improve the lives of girls across Indiana. Whether it’s advocating for the rights of all girls, proactively conducting research to better understand their needs, or cultivating opportunities for girls to grow and thrive, we are dedicated to making a positive impact.
